Founded in 1989, New York Housing Community Services & Development emerged from a simple but powerful belief: every family deserves access to safe, affordable housing. What began as a grassroots effort to help families in crisis has grown into a comprehensive community organization serving thousands of New Yorkers each year.
Our journey started when community leaders recognized that housing instability was at the root of many challenges facing families - from children's educational outcomes to family health and economic mobility.
